They are hybrids. Most serious cichlid hobbyists are against this practice. By hybridizing fish, we run the risk of losing the %26quot;true%26quot; species of cichlids. It is also considered %26quot;playing God%26quot; by some. Why would we need to create a new species, when there are so many beautiful species to be found in nature?
Are flower horns midas cichlids?
No. They are mixes.
Reply:No, they are hybrids of various cichlids - the secret to which species were included in their design was never released as far as I know, but Midas is one of the possibilities in the mix.
Reply:Flower Horn Cichlids are farm raised in the USA and are the result of crossbreeding different Central American cichlids. A Midas is a type of true cichlid and Flower Horns are also cichlids, but they are a mix, of which specific types it is not known, or at least released as general public knowledge. So, no, a Flower Horn cichlid is not a Midas cichlid.books authors
