you'd need a bit more than 2.5 yds. get 3 and you can use the rest in various places in your yard.

a cubic yard is 27 cubic feet - I would think that 2 "yards" of dirt wiuld cover it (yards referring to truck loads)
Thats if you mean buying a "yard" of dirt from a landscaping place- basically a pickup truck bed will be enough- and the weight wont allow for too much in a regular pickup- but if you are ordering a yard of dirt from a landfill or something- just ask for 2 yards.
I think 2 yards ordered will cover it since your bed is only 16" deep
