I want to start planting colorful shrubs and flower in my yard. When and where do I start?

I moved into this house last year. I watched different flowers sprout up last spring/summer. I want to add to what the previous owners did and don't know when and where to start. Oh and by the way I am on the East Coast.

Follow this link and it will show your last day of frost and shrubs/flowers that can be grown in your area. http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/pac_ctnt_988/te... Also, don't forget to consider the height, care (water use, pruning, etc.) and growth rate of the shrubs you decide to plant. Hope this helps.
Reply:Hello,

The new easy to grow and care for rose varieties, such as Knockout roses and Bonica roses and also the Easy Elegance roses would give you a lot of color for your garden from spring until frost. They are all very hardy and require almost no maintenance.

And best of all they are very beautiful and fragrant and these roses will make your garden very colorful and pretty.

For pictures and more information about these paricular roses and more roses, go to my Web site.

Sincerely,
