What can I grow in my north facing flower beds that looks good with Autumn fern?

I have the ferns in the beds,but want more in with them,to fill the beds,prefer flowers....
What can I grow in my north facing flower beds that looks good with Autumn fern?
I have two beautiful "Karen" Azalea bushes with Astilbe and Hosta. Every time I see my Astilbe I think "I've got to get more". I love that plant and the foliage is very similar to your fern. Humming birds (and bees) love them too! They all do so well in the shade and would look great with your plant! Can't wait for spring!!!
Reply:Go to a nursery or garden center and buy bedding plants of vinca. This is a six pack or 24 pack of plants that are already growing. You want the upright plants, not the ground covers. Ask the clerk if these will grow on your north side. Ask the clerk if they will do well in your rainy season.





Vinca come in all colors and bloom all summer long into fall. They are annuals, but since the DFW area is warm, they might grow all year round for you. They re-seed themselves. Here is what they look like, click this link:
